Our Mountain Getaways

We're owned by a husband and wife team, Steve & Sheryl. We have three wonderful cabins atop North Georgia's Screamer Mountain, by Clayton, Georgia.

COPPERTOP is where your hosts live, next door to GRACELAND and REBA'S RISE.

GRACELAND is not named for Elvis -- although he does have a presence. It's named for Steve's mother, Grace Lorene Webster. She was a schoolteacher during WWII -- and one of the very first married female teachers. After the war, she and her husband Earl owned and operated a mechanical contracting business. They rewarded their success by buying a vacation home on beautiful Lake West Okoboji, and then another home in Naples, Florida. Family and friends were regular visitors.

REBA'S RISE, which will be available for rental Summer 2022, is named for Sheryl's grandmother, Reba Mae Chesser Rogers, who was the perfect example of a Southern Belle.  She was born, raised, and died on a farm outside Gainesville, Florida. Her Southern roots run deep as she is a descendant of an original Florida Homestead Family (the original homesite is now part of the Florida Parks Service) and the renowned Chessers of Chesser Island (now part of the Georgia Park Service), located in the Okefenokee Swamp.  Her American lineage can be traced back to her family's arrival in the New World in the early 1600's and, through the years, many of her ancestors fought in the American Revolution, the American Civil War, WWI, WWII, Korean War, and Vietnam War.  True to being a Southern Belle, she instilled a love of family and friends in all who knew her.  She lived a life of selfless, inspirational, and unparalleled desire to love and help others. She was known as the best cook in the county and the first to arrive, with food, when one was in need or ill.  Her two favorite places were her beautiful acres of flowers and her modest kitchen.

We decided to expand the tradition of these two great women by offering our mountaintop homes to share with friends, family -- and you!
We hope you create fond memories and find a newfound love of nature during your stay.
